Supermutant Records is a musician run record label,video and live events collective started in 2000ish in Sheffield (u.k).

AN INTRODUCTION TO SUPERMUTANT RECORDS IN CREATIVE AUDIO FORM :

We are united around the beliefs that different styles can complement each other the originality, feeling ,soul and the message of a piece of music (or art or whatever) is more important than what genre it is,that collaboration is better than competition  and that creative folk shouldn’t have to sell out to big dumb corporations just to make a living …

We run our own record label ,do our own events ,our own production, promotion, videos,cover art ,and everything else and get the music out to folk ourselves…

Everyone involved maintains their independence ,and the label works as a way of collaborating for us ,as well as a filter for you to find out all about the scene .

Its called Supermutant cos we are , musically,culturally and philosophically.

The Records bit of our name doesn’t refer to vinyl (although we’d love to put some out one day), but to the old meaning of records (i.e keeping a record of something) Cos theres some beautiful stuff  being made and regardless of what value the world in general may decide to put on it ,we know its great,and want it to be out there for other like minds  to enjoy
(or maybe just us when we’re all old people.)
